Help govern Desire Child Care Organization

Desire Child Care Organization (DCCO) is forming its Board of Directors, and we are welcoming applications from Ugandan citizens. Directors serve as volunteers. The position is unpaid, with no salary, stipend, or sitting fee. We want every applicant to understand this from the start.

The board that governs DCCO

Open to Ugandan citizens

The Board of Directors governs Desire Child Care Organization. Desire is registered as an Indigenous NGO, which under Ugandan law must be wholly controlled by Ugandan citizens. That is why every member of our Board of Directors is a Ugandan citizen.

It is separate from our International Advisory Board.

How applications are reviewed

Led from Uganda

Our founder, Bugingo Desire Moses, is leading the formation of the board. Every application is reviewed with the Ugandan leadership of DCCO, and we will contact you about a conversation.

If you are a Ugandan citizen with the heart and the skills to help guide DCCO, we would be glad to hear from you.

What we will ask of you

All of it is required.

Your CV or resume. After you apply, we will ask you to email it to us.
A short letter of interest, a few paragraphs, telling us why you feel called to serve DCCO.
How you first heard about us.
A short note on your experience with community organizations, child welfare, or local NGO work in Uganda. If you have none, that is fine, but please say so.
Three professional referees, such as an employer, supervisor, or colleague, and not family members or friends. For each, their full name, how they know your work, and their phone or WhatsApp number and email address. Someone from our team will contact them, and we will ask them to confirm by email from their own address.
Your professional registration number, for example with a Ugandan medical or nursing council, or a line saying it does not apply to you.

Not a Ugandan citizen? You can still serve. Our International Advisory Board is a non-governing, volunteer board that advises and supports Desire, and it is open to anyone, anywhere in the world.
